Chocolate dreams

“We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams”

My favourite movie of all times?

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. (1971)

Ever since I can remember I have dreamed of sailing down a chocolate river on a bon-bon boat, eating cream-filled mushrooms and toffee-apple balloons.

Gene Wilder made the story of Willy Wonka come true in front of my eyes. He captures the essence of the character behind those secret eyes and has the ability to scare you shitless whilst making you want to hug him.

I have been searching for this movie since my childhood, and when wandering the streets of Cape Town with my brother I stumbled on a VCR version. Pure bliss. Pure chocolately, dreamy, Roald Dahl Bliss!

“Invention, my dear friends, is 93% perspiration, 6% electricity, 4% evaporation, and 2% butterscotch ripple”

My dream came true again. I relived the feelings of my child again and became more of a child.

My love for chocolate most definitely stems from this movie. Watch it.

“Everything in this room is eatable. In fact even I am eatable, but that is called canabalism my dear children and is frowned upon in most civilizations.”
